I want to take a moment and congratulate you. Yes, you. You’ve been through some tremendous life experiences; even now, you may be going through some situations that feel impossible to handle, or maybe you are just going through the motions of life, not sure what is next. Wondering. Waiting. Hoping for some clues to set your life back on track.
What you have gone through is important because you matter and so does your story.
Everything you have gone through has helped you become more of who you really want to be. I know it can be hard at first to comprehend that some life situations are beneficial, but part of healing is sharing your story and personal experience with others. As you tell your truth, you heal, you find understanding, and, most important, you get closure.
Today let’s revel in the awesomeness of you and stand up tall to share your story. The world needs to hear what you have to offer.
As Steve Jobs said,
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”
This is one of my favorite quotes because when we are in the thick of troubling situations we can’t see how they are connected, but we can turn to trust. We have to have faith that it is all part of a bigger plan.
When I was suffering from depression and addicted to drugs, I felt lost and like I didn’t matter. I was able to heal myself by following my heart and listening to the loving voice within instead of fear, and this transformed my life. But the must healing part of my own personal journey was in sharing my story. Through the process I was able to share my truth, in books, coaching, and this blog. The more I shared myself, the more healing I received and the more love I felt from the world.
If you are holding back because you worry about what people will think when you share your story, or you don’t really think your story matters, here are important things to remember:
1. You matter.
Your experience and what you’ve gone through are all part of your life plan. When you share yourself fully, you actually help those around you. They can find life lessons and apply them to their own life. Sharing your story uplifts others and heals yourself.
2. Your experience can help uplift others.
You experiences are part of who you are, and when you share them, even to one person, it is about you expressing your truth. Sharing yourself is the best thing you can do for your own healing, and in turn you heal the world. Sharing your story is about being true to you and being authentic.
3. When you express yourself, you feel free.
When you express yourself, you reach freedom. When we don’t say what we want to say, it can cause depression and anxiety. Simply sharing what you are going through or have already experienced will help you step into your personal freedom. Express yourself.
4. It’s not about you.
Remember, sharing your own story isn’t about you. You’ve gone through what you have experienced for a reason, because now you can actually help others by just sharing your truth. It’s all about expression, and expressing your true authenticity is what makes you beautiful. Let yourself be you and share your story.
When you share your story with others, you uplift the world.
What is your story? What are you ready to share with the world?
