What’s Really Happening, A Bigger Picture to Consider

The other day a friend asked me, “Why are you not scared?” I responded, because “I trust God and I know humans prevail.”

It can be so easy to fall into worry, fear and anxiety right now. I would feel that way too, if I didn’t know that this was part of a bigger picture.

For the past two decades, I’ve been studying history, psychological and spiritual evolution and prophet predictions.

Fear is a natural reaction to moving

closer to the truth.

When we peel back the layers of hysteria, panic and fear, we can reveal the deeper meaning. We can see that we are in a cultural awakening. A humanitarian shift is occurring, and it is one that mystics, prophets, and ancient spiritual leaders throughout the ages have predicted for this time period in history. 2020 is the year of massive disruption (but if we understand the big picture, we can see we are in a global shift, entering into a massive revelation). There is no mistake that you are supposed to be here in this very turbulent time of change. Your perspective, your focus and your light are needed. It may feel like we are witnessing end times, as we question everything we once knew, our every day comforts and routine way of life are crumbling in front of our eyes, but consider that is the point. For ages, as a collective we’ve been operating from one place, one of fear, one of greed, manipulation and separation, one of mistrust and attachment, but we have an opportunity to enter into more love, unity, community and oneness.

I am not scared because I know we will see this through. What history shows is through trauma, disasters and national emergencies, we prevail, we come together, we lean into love. We help one another; we are being shown that we do need one another.

The healing comes from letting all things be in their own time and place.

It seems everyone has a different perceptive, and emotional response to the current situations. If you are in fear, be present with that. How you feel is part of the awakening. Your emotions at this time are so important. Make sure you allow room for the feelings. The healing comes from letting all things be in their own time and place, practicing non-attachment to what we are witnessing, yet being present with all that comes up. Feel your feelings, make room for all of it—the grief, the relief, the pain, the joy, the fear, the misery, the worry—it all belongs in our experience. As we feel each emotion, we heal. We learn more about what we care most about. This is a very personal experience for many of us, as we question our way of living, our patterns, and even our daily habits, yet universally, we are all in this together.

When things fall apart, they are

actually falling into place.

Pema Chodron speaks to this idea in her book When Things Fall Apart. When things fall apart, it will always test us. But it isn’t a test to pass but one of awareness of what is occurring on a deeper level. In the universe things come together and fall away. There is always an unfolding; it’s never really about solving it or getting closure. This is why so often we want closure but never really get it.

The universe is always expanding, opening and breathing in new life. So when things fall away, it isn’t so much about holding on to the old, but opening up to the new. The ones who will make it through this turbulent time the easiest are those who practice non-attachment and are able to let go of the past ways of living, doing and being. Those who can reevaluate and realign moment by moment will blaze the way. Release your resistance to the unknown and open up to possibilities. We are all being asked to rise up into a new way of living, one that is more aligned with love. Holding on to the old ways of living, the old ways of doing things, the old patterns will only hurt you in this difficult time. Our resiliency comes from trust. Practice radical trust and faith that there is a bigger picture at play.

Right now, our entire way of life is being shattered as most things are put on pause—school closures, travel bans, cleaned out stores. With major disruption, we are being asked to really evaluate what is most important to us. Self or community, me vs. you, them vs. us. We need each other, as humans, as family. We are being forced to learn that we are all one and united in this universe.

As my friend Summer Bacon said, “Although I do not like the fact that our civil liberties are being limited, perhaps we can see this as God’s way of helping us to hit the reset button on our lives, and to focus on those things that really matter, such as love, compassion, family and community. I believe that when this is over, we will come back bigger, better and stronger in our gatherings, and with greater appreciation and awareness of how much We Need Each Other.”

The Truth will always Prevail.

Consider that the world events are bigger than just what we are witnessing. The situations occurring in 2020 are part of a larger universal undoing; things that are no longer working are coming to an end. We are deep in it right now so it is difficult to see the big picture, but all things of truth will see the light. A Course in Miracles says, “If this be of God there is nothing you can do to stop it, and if it is not of God, it will come to naught.” A study of history shows that the ego (anything created from darkness) always implodes. When it does, truth automatically comes to force.

“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.” — Richard Bach

Consider that this isn’t the End, but a glorious New Beginning. Those who see the end may be consumed with fear. What is needed is getting to know our fear, no need to run from it. “Become familiar with it, look it in the eye, not as a way to solve the problems, but as a complete undoing of old ways of seeing, being, thinking and behaving. When we dive deep into this experience, we become humbled and only then can we see our truth,” Pema Chodron.

So often we are told to run from our fear, don’t feel it, but what Pema Chodron suggests is an invitation: Bring it near. Let it be part of your experience. When you encounter fear, thank it. Consider yourself lucky for you are being asked to meet it with courage.

Each day we are given the opportunity to open up or shut down, to focus on fear or choose love, to seek comfort and safety or brave the unrevealed path.

A Final Note: This Is the Year of Redefining & Reevaluating

This year of 2020 is a time of great inner awakening, but also cultural, societal realigning. We are being asked on a soul level to look deep within ourselves at who we are as an individual, but not separate from the whole. The illusions of separation are shattering as we see borders being ignored as the virus spreads worldwide; we will be tasked with redefining what we as a culture, society, and world represent. The focus on them vs. me, mine and yours is shattering as we experience turbulence on epic portions. What this means is instead of falling into fear, roll up our sleeves and get to work. Light workers, healers, leaders, teachers, love warriors, joy seekers—this is what we all came for. This is the time to do the work.

We are here to be part of and assist in the shift. The shift into high consciousness, into more love, into more unity. But before we reach this, we must shatter all illusions of separation. Which is why we are seeing so much crumble around us. Go inward and really get clear about who you are, what you stand for and what matters most to you. Do you stand in the light, or is fear your comforter? Do you believe in and trust God, or is your faith in something else? When you are aligned with the truth, love and light, you have nothing to fear.

This may feel like an intense, scary and unpredictable time, but all great change, all massive awakenings come from disruption. From a spiritual perspective, we can align with the awareness that things are not falling apart but actually falling into place. We are in the thick of it, this few year cycle will come to an end, but keep your head high and know that the world is changing, shifting and growing into more love.

And you are part of the shift. Stay strong and continue to focus forward with love.

Thank you for this enlightened reminder through these uncertain times. I am an optimisic realist for sure and while these challenging times leave us all feeling rather “disrupted” I am feeling hopeful and positive for the outcome once we make our way through this. I will select positivty over a dooms day mentality and work daily to be a light to others. As a wife, Mother and Grandmother, I will start by being that example for my family first and expand from there. Thanks for sharing your insights… Always spot on!!
