Vlog: Is Fear Deciding your Fate?

Do you have a big goal in your heart that has yes to be realized?

Life traumas and bad experiences can trigger a fear response within us that is hard to handle. We often take our fear from the past and replay it in the present. On our journey to reaching our goals, we often let fear decide our fate. We believe the fear is real, and it can hold us back from our full potential.

In this video recorded in the Belize jungle, I talk about the steps I took to bust through fear, leave depression and a job I hated behind, to be a travel writer. Learn insightful tools to help you reach your full potential.

I have to thank you for inspiring me to take the leap. I too am stuck in corporate but tomorrow I will be giving my notice of retirement (although I am technically old enough) and I am buying a truck and fifth wheel so I can travel around the country. I am a trained tour guide and tour manager and hopefully I will be able to use those skills in my travels. Thank you for the inspiration.

Thankyou Shannon…when I watched your video “My Wish” I just started to cry…I can relate to being a prisoner of fear and feeling helpless to get past it. I am so happy for you, you are young and have already found your happy in life…I am going to be 56 this month and am recovering from an illness called Pancreatitis that was caused by a scoping procedure in my liver/gallbladder and it has been a very long recovery…I keep wondering if the pain and discomfort will ever go away so I can feel whole again and get my life back.
I work with children in my career and I am a really good singer, used to play the guitar quite well too but laid it down growing cobwebs for about 15 years now…yes I did grow up in a very abusive environment but I have forgiven and made my best effort to let go of all of that…but it would seem my mind and body are having a problem with fear and self doubt with thoughts that I am not worthy or deserving of happiness and I find them to be very crippling at times. I will be returniing back to work hopefully at the end of this month. I enjoy my work and I love children however I find as I am getting older that the environment is extremely stressfull, noisy and very physically trying and because of this illness I have fears about not being able to continue in this field for much longer.
My dreams of old were to become a singer songwriter, I still have a great voice but my guitar playing is quite rusty and it seems my enthusiasm is no where near as strong as it used to be…my new dream is to create children’s books and I have great plans but just have no idea where to begin with this one.
Anyway I just wanted to say hello and tell you I absolutely love you and am so proud of you for being able to live your dreams…I will try to meditate and believe that I can still acomplish my dreams…at 55 it seems like time is so short and it’s a little harder to achieve these dreams because of this…I am so grateful for my partner, he is very supportive of me no matter what and I keep believing for a windfall of money so it will be easier to get started with these dreams…you are a wonderful girl and please think of me out there and enjoy every minute!!! *HUGGS*

    Caroline 🙂

Caroline, amazing story. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Some of the biggest greats in the world didn’t tap into their big dreams until 50-60 and 70. Think of Louis Hay, she started Hay House when she was 60, and now it is the worlds largest inspirational self-help, spiritual publisher in the world. You go girl. Keep following your heart. And thank you so much for sharing with me. Bug hugs. Shannon

    Hi Shannon,

    Thanks for the support!
I’ve been stuck for a while now (5 years after graduating University).
I recently gave my resignation letter in to my boss. It’s time to fulfill my life in the art world now!
