Are you feeling down and out? Do you find yourself complaining a lot, or do you know someone who is complaining so much that it is bringing you down?
There are easy ways to combat the negative blues. Try these tips:
1. Grasp the Good
If you find yourself falling into doubt or negativity, these emotions can snowball one on top of another. When we are in fear and focusing on the lack, it will often breed more negative thinking. If you relate to this, then practice grasping the good. One moment at a time, focus on the good instead of
what is not going well. The more you can turn your attention off of what is not working by focusing your time, money, and energy on what you want, you will feel more aligned with joy and abundance.
2. Turn Expectations into Appreciation
When we complain a lot, we worry that the world is out to get us. We fall into negativity and depression. You may even feel anxiety or discomfort. If you are overwhelmed by situations, ask yourself, “What are my expectations?” Expectations are the root of all heartaches, William Shakespeare said. If we don’t have defined expectations, we can learn to appreciate what is. Let go of your expectations and focus on being thankful.
3. Do You Want To Be Happy or Right?
Often when we complain, we feel stuck and we focus on how we were wronged or our expectations didn’t line up to what we wanted. In this need to be right, we often become righteous and determined to prove others wrong so we can get our way. The fix is to let go of the need to be right, and you will feel more love and you will be happy.
