How to Figure Out What You Want (Especially When You Have No Idea)

One of the questions I get asked most after live lectures and workshops is, “Well, Shannon, that’s all well and good, making your goals come true and going after your dream life, but what if you have no idea what you want?”

You aren’t alone in feeling like you need to figure it out. Most people struggle because we think we have to have it all figured out. I certainly did when I first left corporate. I had no idea what I wanted to do, and this added so much anxiety to my life. But one step at a time I was able to get more clarity and discover my passion and joy. 1. Honor the journey

It is so important to honor the process. What you are going through right now is part of your bigger life plan. Be where you are instead of where you think you should be. The more in the journey you can be, the easier your life will feel because you are in the flow of life, vs. resistance.

 

2. We learn the way on the way

The more steps you take to honor your bliss, the more opportunities you will have to achieve your goals.

 

3. Lean into your joy

With each action step you take, you will reveal the best next right action. Give yourself permission to not know. You don’t have to find your purpose, because it will discover you. Instead of trying hard to figure it out, focus on the daily adventures and making
